A bit of a moment here. The image in the article is NOT the same as an Electron Microscopy image: its a 3D render of a structure, not a photograph, or a record of EM scanning.

Basically, this looks like AI slop: it doesn't show the improved image it shows a render of hypothetical structure, and it doesn't reference the paper it references a pnas number which is 404.

The images in there make a lot more sense: they look like Xray crystallography 2D projections of the 3D surface which has been EM scanned.
